Can you fix it yourself?
Not really. Wiping the front and rear elements only helps with external dirt — haze, fungus and coating damage sit on internal surfaces that can only be reached by fully disassembling the lens. Storing the lens in a dry place with silica gel can slow further damage, but it will not reverse it. Attempting to open a 70-200 f/2.8 L without the right tools and optical alignment equipment risks turning a repairable lens into scrap.

The light hazing on two further groups was eliminated with a dedicated cleaning process.
